Oxford dictionary defines learning as “the acquisition of knowledge or skills through study, experience, or being taught.” All of us know that learning means acquiring some knowledge. As mentioned above, learning can occur through several means. Yet, everyone of us may not learn with a common perspective. In this article, I will discuss about what I feel is the “art of learning”.

I have failed, you have failed and yes, everyone has failed at least once in their lifetime. Usually, failure is defined as a negative word by dictionaries. Even the feelings and expressions of the failed ones seem painful. However, failure becomes the best experience when you start cherishing it.
Writing is a phenomenon of transforming thoughts and feelings into words. Writings can be of different forms. People write novels, stories and even poems to depict the real or imaginary world. Other forms of writings like articles, news, etc. are intended to enlighten or inform people. There may be several other writing forms as well but here I will converge to article writing.
The word ‘silence’ has long been used to denote the lack of sound. At times, people do not even hesitate to say, “Silence is acceptance.” However, this hypothesis doesn’t always end up being the truth.
The word ‘student’ defines itself. It refers to that person who is eager and thirsty to study and gain knowledge from his heart, mind and soul. But, its meaning and significance get questioned when the word ‘politics’ is appended to it. This makes students leave apart ‘studies’ and get involved in so called political activities. These days, ‘student politics’ has spread in many colleges like a wildfire. Some politicians may support this saying that politics is an essential part of study. If this was the fact then the children in Nursery class would never have learnt A, B, C, D… because they are never taught about politics. I want to ask all the great political leaders of the nation, “Is politics really necessary in the process of gaining knowledge?” The answer is obvious and apparent to everyone including the national level politicians. When will we realize that we have been pushing the students’ identity into stake by encouraging them in politics?
Inability to distinguish between the good education and the right education has plunged a large mass of students into failure and frustration. By saying ‘good education’, I refer to the study fields praised high by our society. In our context, being doctor, engineer, pilot, etc. is considered to be a matter of huge prestige and people pertaining to some other fields are considered worthless. But, in contrary to the general perception, getting the right education is of higher value. ‘Right education’ can be understood as the field of study that best suits ones interests and more importantly, capacity. If we do not dare to cut a line between the good and the right education, the outcomes might lead us to disastrous consequences.
Sexuality in simple terms can be stated as a desire and ability to get involved in sensual activities. It might depend on person’s choice too. In this article, I will be confined to the sexuality with heterosexual orientation. Heterosexual orientation is the sexual preference in which the person experiences non-voluntary attraction to opposite sex or gender.
Hi! I’m Bigya. I’m 24 and an Engineer. ‘Bigya’ is a Nepali word which in English means ‘an expert’. Oxford dictionary defines expert as the one having a great deal of knowledge or skill in a particular area. But, besides my name, I have never been an expert, despite the education I acquired. Curriculum was something I read, learnt and then accepted. There was no question like “What can be beyond it?” or “What would it look like from another view?” The consequence was obvious; there I was with a degree but with no ample dimensions. The tragedy is not the end as I opted for a new path to learning. Technically, people call it Research.
Love is an intangible and indomitable feeling. There might be infinitely many definitions of love but my description will revolve around romantic love. Love in this article will refer to the love between two human beings not related by blood. For simple understanding, one can imagine lovers like Romeo and Juliet.
Teaching and Learning are two different words with unavoidable association with each other. Teaching is an art or profession of causing someone to learn; Learning is the process of acquisition of the things being taught or experienced. In these statements, I intend to address the teaching and learning acts in the school and university education.
